Digestive System

During my study I’ve learnt about every singe System of our body. Every one of them is really fascinating.
But from my point of view the Digestive System is the most unique of all.
Not only because it converts the food we eat into nutrients we need and get rid of waste products, but it involves nearly our whole body and many different organs to do the job.
Anything from the mouth throughout the Salivary glands, Esophagus, Liver, Gallbladder, Stomach, Pancreas, Large intestine, Small intestine, Appendix, Rectum up to the anus are part of the process.
At least 70% of our Immune system is housed in the GUT (Gastrointestinal Tract).
In order to our Immune System be able to work properly our Digestive System (from mouth to anus) has to function properly and vice versa.
There are numerous health issues related to the Digestive System, but unfortunately frequently missdiagnosed or unable to identified and wrongly treated.
The best example is that Anxiety, Depression, Brain fog and so on are mostly treated with antidepressants instead of taking time to find the root cause of the problem and cure that.
When we are in our mom’s womb as an embryo, our GUT and our brain developes from the same tissue with millions of nerves and neurons connection. The GUT and the brain communicates with each othe via the vagus nerve. That is why our GUT often referred as our second brain.
Therefore any GUT related issue effects the brain.
-Celiac disease
-Gluten sensitivity
-Lactose intolerance
-IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome)
-IBD (Inflammatory Bowel Disease), Chron’s and Ulcerative Colitis
-SIBO (Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth
-GERD (Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease
and a lot more.
All the above conditions can make an inpact on our brain causing stress, irritability, anger, anxiety, depression and many more.
It is very important to adress the root cause to be able to treat the exact issue and heal properly.
